A evolução das técnicas de controle em sistemas sequenciais e distribuidos alcançou um nível onde o protocolo de comunicação analógico é, finalmente, substituído por um protocolo digital. Isso é realizado através da nova tecnologia de comunicação em chão de fábrica conhecida como Fieldbus. Nesta dissertação são apresentadas as etapas da evolução das técnicas de controle culminando com o surgimento do Fieldbus. É apresentada uma revisão das técnicas de controle no Fieldbus, a questão do escalonamento da comunicação, características técnicas dos protocolos mais importantes, principais algoritmos para solucionar a questão do escalonamento e, a realização de um procedimento de medida de tempo em uma rede Fieldbus

The development of the control systems obtain a level where the analogical communication protocol is substitute for another digital. This is realized with the new technology of low-level industrial communication, known as Fieldbus. This dissertation presents evolutions stages of control systems culminating in Fieldbus. Yours main characteristics are described, communication scheduling problems, technique characteristics of the most important protocols in the market, main algorithms to resolve the scheduling problems and execution of a time measurement behavior in a Fieldbus network.
