A aplicação usual de sistemas assistidos por computador na programação de Máquinas CNC, apesar de eficientes em seus recursos gráficos para a verificação e simulação do percurso da ferramenta, não tem todo o seu potencial tecnológico explorado. A falta de uma metodologioa para a seleção de ferramentas na programação CNC em ambientes integrados, visando a definição gráfica da ferramenta e o seu desempenho na usinagem, leva a resultados pouco satisfatórios face a toda a tecnologia disponível. Este trabalho apresenta uma metodologia para a seleção de ferramentas, que considera os requisitos levantados junto a sistemas de programação CNC assistidos por computador e catálogos de fabricantes de ferramentas

Abstract in English
The application usual of computer-assisted systems in programming CNC Machines, although efficient ín graphic resources for the verifyíng and símulating the path of the tool, does not have its fulf potential technological exploited. The rack of a methodology for the selection of tools on CNC programming in integrated environments, aiming at the graphic definition of the tool and its performance in assembling leads to unsatisfactory results in face of all the available technology. This work presents a methodology for the selection of tools, that considers the requirements obtained at CNC computer-assisted CNC programming systems and tools manufacturers catalogues.
