Abstract in English
This work results from an experimental program of artificial soils. The main objective of this research is to generate information for a future soil classification based on the methylene blue adsorption test, through analysis of the behaviour of artificial soils, which present variable percentages of a unique gross fraction and three types of fine fraction, resulting into a total of 15 laboratory-built soil samples. Besides, the usual classification systems (HRB and USCS) and the MCT classification system were tested, verifying the quality of prevision of properties furnished by those systems, as a function of the percentage of concentration and of the type of fine fraction of the mixtures. The experimental results allowed to know the behaviour of some properties of interest for paving, by establishing relations between these properties and the quantity of methylene blue consumed by the soil. Based on that relations it is possible to estimate how technological properties of soils vary for different percentages and types of fine fractions.
