Nesta pesquisa é investigado o coeficiente de transferência de calor, na interface água-ar, de um experimento realizado em laboratório. O ensaio consiste no resfriamento de uma massa líquida pré-aquecida contida em um tanque, sob condições de turbulência imposta por um agitador mecânico. A primeira parte da pesquisa dedica-se à determinação do coeficiente global de transferência térmica na interface, de maneira clássica, ou seja, pela análise do resfriamento transiente da massa de água. A segunda parte da pesquisa consiste em desenvolver uma metodologia alternativa para a determinação do coeficiente de transferência utilizando-se valores medidos em condições de regime permanente. A metodologia proposta para a determinação do coeficiente global de transferência de calor k, foi desenvolvida visando aplicação futura na transferência de gases através da interface água - ar, em problemas de interesse ambiental

The overall heat transfer coefficient at the air water interface is ínvestigate using a laboratory rig. The tests consist in the cooling of mass of water under agitation by a propeller type stirrer. In the first part of the research the overall heat transfer coefficient was detemined by the classical method based on the collection of data at the transient cooling of the water. In the second part, a methodolgy was developed for the same determination based on data collected at thermal steady state conditions. The methodology for the determination of the overall heat transfer coefficient was developed as a test of future aplícations for the study of gas transfer at the water surface.
