Abstract in English
This study presents quatitative and quantitative information on the phytoplankton of an dune lake system in a National Park (Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses-MA) along 04 sub systems located in little diferences of latitude: Azul, Buriti Amarelo, Alazão and Vassouras, in two periods of the year (dry and rainy) with the purpose to obtain preliminary data about the phytoplankton community structure according to the environmental conditions. The abiotic data as temperature, which had little variation along the year; preccipitation - more intensive in rainy season; eletrical conductivity of the water remained related to salinity; all these variables showed expected results considering the latitude of the area. The percentual of dissolved oxygen was high (between 85 and 193%), indicating the dynamic of the system. Analyses of the nutrientes in the different systems demonstrated low media concentrations of ammonio ion (between 14,52 and 49,93 μg/L), nitrite (0,40 and 1,70 μg/L), nitrate (3,80 a 42,43 μg/L), total dissolved phosphate (between 2,78 and 41,77 μg/L), disssolved inorganic phosphate (3,77 and 14,24 μg/L) indicating the oligotrophic caracteristics of the dune lakes sampled. Total nitrogen (between 0,24 and 1,35 mg/L) and phosphorus (16,08 and 58,13 μg/L) obtained higher concentrations what can demonstrated the accumulation of these nutrients by algae or other compartment of the systems. Chlorophyll a (0-9,45 μg/L), richess (7-24) and density (1,25-2,5 bits/ind.) of the lakes confirm the data of nutrients, showing low quantities. The phytoplankton community was constituted by 68 taxa distributed in 08 classes, Zygnemaphyceae presented the higher richess followed by Chlorophyceae, in relation to density Cyanophyceae dominated in pratically all systems. The equity or uniformity showed media values between 49% and 64%, showing the tendency of uniformity in almost all regions. The experiments of primary production realized in Azul and Buriti Amarelo demonstrated low primary production of phytoplankton (from 0 to 38 mgC/m2/day), confirming data of other authors. The Trophic State Index calculated, although initially proposed to tropic reservoirs with higher depths, confirmed the oligotrophic conditions of the systems.
