Este trabalho teve como objetivo estudar a relação entre a geomorfologia e a evolução do uso do solo da Bacia Hidrográfica do Alto Anhanduí/MS entre 1988 e 1998. Para tanto foram aplicadas técnicas de sensoriamento remoto representadas pela ampliação linear de contraste, segmentação e classificação não-supervisionada por regiões utilizando imagens digitais do Sensor Thematic Mapper do Satélite Landsat 5 para obter os mapas de uso do solo. Os atributos geomorfológicos estudados foram os morfométricos representados pela hipsometria e declividade obtidos de cartas topográficas e os genéticos caracterizados pelas unidades geomorfológicas derivadas do mapa temático de geomorfologia da SEPLAN/MS. Os mapas hipsométrico e de declividades foram confeccionados utilizando o SIG SPRING através do Modelo Numérico de Terreno por meio da grade triangular. As informações geomorfológicas foram cruzadas com as informações de uso do solo de 1988 e 1998 por meio da tabulação cruzada. Verificou-se considerável redução da vegetação natural decorrente do crescimento da área urbanizada e da área antropizada (decorrente do avanço da fronteira agrícola para o Oeste do Brasil) uma vez que as características geomorfológicas do Alto Anhanduí não oferecem limitações naturais à ocupação humana pelo fato de que ali predominam regiões com baixas declividades e planas, favoráveis à mecanização agrícola e à implantação de empresas agrícolas

This study aims to analyse the relationship between the geomorphology and the evolution ofthe land use ofthe Watershed of Alto Anhanduí/MS between 1988 and 1998. Remote sensing techniques were applied represented by the linear contrast stretch, segmentation and unsupervised classification by regions using digital images from the Thematic Mapper Sensor of Landsat 5 Satellite to obtain the land use maps. The geomorphological attributes studied were the morfometrics represented by hipsometry and slopes obtained from topographical letters and the genetic ones obtained by the geomorphologycal units derived from the geomorphology thematic map of SEPLAN/MS. The hipsometric and slope maps were made using GIS SPRING through the Numeric Terrain Model by means of triangular grid. The geomorphologycal information was crossed with the one of land use of 1988 and 1998 through the crossed tabulation. A considerable reduction of the natural vegetation was verified resulting from o f both the growth o f the urbanized area and the anthropics area (due to the progress of the agricultural border to the West of Brazil) once the geomorphologycal characteristic of Alto Anhanduí does not offer natural limitations to human occupation, as plain regions low slopes prevail favoring agricultural mechanization and the introduction of agricultural companies
