A globalização dos mercados estimula as empresas a estarem sempre crescendo para acompanhar as mudanças e obterem vantagem competitiva. Assim, as empresas pertencentes a um cluster, que se constitui num aglomerado de empresas, também são estimuladas a crescerem e se manterem competitivas, sendo este estímulo originário tanto do ambiente externo ao cluster, como também das próprias empresas pertencentes a ele. Por outro lado, pode-se observar que um dos fatores que propiciam às empresas alcançarem uma situação que as permitam competir de forma sustentável é a substituição de seus ativos permanentes. Neste contexto, esta dissertação tem por objetivo investigar se o cluster da laranja estimula as empresas do setor citrícola da região de Bebedouro a substituírem seus ativos permanentes com o propósito de obtenção e manutenção de vantagem competitiva sustentável, ou se estas se baseiam apenas nas tradicionais técnicas de análise de investimento para tomada de tal decisão. Para a realização deste trabalho foram realizadas seis entrevistas com gerentes de seis empresas pertencentes ao cluster da laranja, localizado no município de Bebedouro, a fim de se constatar a hipótese de que as substituições ocorrem a partir de uma visão estratégica e não apenas financeira

Abstract in English
The globalization of the markets stimulates the companies to be growing always to accompany the changes and obtain competitive advantage. Thus, the companies belonging to a cluster, that constituted in an agglomerate of companies, are stimulated to grow and maintain competitive also, being this incentive originated so much of the external atmosphere to the cluster, as well as of the own companies belonging to him. On the other hand, it can be observed that one of the factors that propitiate to the companies reaches a situation that allow to compete in a maintainable way is the substitution of its permanent assets. In this context, this dissertation has for objective to investigate if the cluster of the orange stimulates the companies of the citriculture of the district area of Bebedouro to substitute its permanent assets with the purpose to obtaining and maintenance of maintainable competitive advantage, or if they just base on the traditional techniques of investment analysis for taking of such decision. For the accomplishment of this work, six interviews were accomplished with managers of six companies belonging to the cluster of the orange, located in the municipal district of Bebedouro, in order to verify the hypothesis that the substitutions happen starting from a strategic and not just financial vision
