Este estudo se propôs a interrogar o climatério na perspectiva de mulheres profissionais de saúde que estão vivendo este momento, com vistas a desvelar as facetas que expressam o significado do fenômeno climatério. Para tanto, utilizou-se a pesquisa qualitativa fundamentada na fenomenologia de acordo com o referencial teórico de Martins e Bicudo (1989).O acesso aos depoimentos das participantes deste trabalho, se deu mediante a seguinte questão: Como é para você vivenciar o climatério? Estes relatos foram analisados segundo os passos da investigação fenomenológica o que possibilitou a identificação de unidades de significados que sintetizadas em categorias, mostrou que para estas mulheres o climatério é um fenômeno... que: possibilita olhar para trás; significa perdas; transforma o corpo; afeta a auto-estima, impossibilita a procriação; se manifesta por sinais e sintomas; suscita repensar a sexualidade; pode influenciar na saúde mental. Analisando cada uma destas categorias e, sempre levando em consideração a minha perspectiva enquanto mulher e profissional de saúde foi possível desvelar novas facetas deste fenômeno, dessa forma pudemos observar por exemplo, que as participantes deste trabalho, mesmo possuindo conhecimento a respeito do tema, estão sozinhas em suas vivências isto possibilitou uma reflexão sobre a temática, e a ampliação dos horizontes para a assistência a mulher que vivência o climatério.

This study if it considered to interrogate the climateric in the perspective of professional women of health who are living deeply this moment, with sights to other facets that they express the meaning of the climateric phenomenon. For in such a way, the fenomenológico method was used in accordance with the theoretical referential of Martins and Bicudo (1989). Thus the access to the depositions of the participants of this work, if gave by means of the following the question: As it is for you to live deeply the climatério. These stories had been analysed according to steps of the fenomenológica inquiry that made possible the identification of units of meanings that synthesised in categories, it showed that for these women who the climateric is a phenomenon... that: it makes possible to look at for; it means losses; it transforms the body; it affects the auto esteem; it disables the procreation; it manifest for signals and symptoms; it excites one to rethink of the sexuality; it can influence in the mental health. Analysing each one of these categories, and always taking in consideration my perspective while professional woman of health and the experience of the climateric, was allowed me to other new facets of this phenomenon of this form we could observe for example, that the participants of this work, exactly, possessing knowledge regarding the subject, are alone in its experiences.
