Esta dissertação traz um estudo sobre o uso e importância do figurino aplicado ao teatro contemporâneo, a partir da análise do traje de cena da Companhia Mungunzá de Teatro, com a decupagem dos espetáculos Luis Antonio Gabriela, Era uma Era e Epidemia Prata, e investigação dos processos de criação de seus trajes. Para desenvolver a pesquisa foram realizadas entrevistas com figurinistas e atores das produções citadas, também foram feitas visitas técnicas à sede do coletivo e registros fotográficos dos trajes e adereços do acervo estudado. Com o estudo foi possível documentar as diferentes formas adotadas na produção dos figurinos, bem como as materialidades e imaterialidades exploradas na concepção visual e caracterização dos personagens nesses espetáculos, analisar a relação entre figurino, cenografia e as influências dos dispositivos tecnológicos sobre a concepção visual da obra. A pesquisa possibilitou apurar que o figurino, dentro da cena contemporânea, tem uma importante função de ressignificação, a partir das intersecções com as tecnologias, com o cenário e iluminação, com as materialidades utilizadas e com o próprio corpo do performer.

This dissertation brings a study on the use and importance of the costume applied to contemporary theater, from the analysis of the costume design of the Mungunzá Theater Company, with the decoupage of the shows Luis Antonio Gabriela, Was an it was and Silver epidemic, and investigation of the processes of creation of their costumes. In developing the research, interviews were conducted with costume designers and actors from the cited productions, technical visits were also made to the collective's headquarters. Photographic records of the costumes and props from the studied collections were made. With the research, it was possible to document the different forms adopted in the production of the costumes, as well as the materialities and immaterialities explored in the visual design and characterization in those shows, to analyze the relate costumes, scenography and the influences of the technological devices on the visual design, of the productions. The research shows that costumes within the contemporary scene have a significant place of reframing, from the intersections with the technologies, with the scenery and lighting, with the materialities used and with the performer's own body.
