Abstract in English
Recto | Verso gathers reflections on my walks through streets of concrete, words, and images. I allow the text to oscillate between academic writing and oral narration, providing insights into my poetic production, where I explore drawing within the realm of experimental publications. In addition to the exploration of editing and visual narratives based on the sequential relationships among elements of a set, my interest extends to certain aspects of films by director Yasujiro Ozu and the works of photographer Masao Yamamoto, such as the construction through fragments and the rhythm of visual flows. The influence of these two significant constellations has led me to delve into readings on Japanese poetry, particularly focusing on rhetorical devices like makura kotoba and kakekotoba, which contribute to the construction of meaning and the cadence of the text. While the fields of visual arts, cinema, and poetry are distinct continents, I believe that the investigation into these structures can offer new perspectives to understand the interrelations between images composing a set, directly influencing my artistic production.
