A pesquisa busca investigar, a partir de uma perspectiva contracolonialista, a concepção do espaço e do tempo ancestrais presente em obras cinematográficas recentes realizadas nas Filipinas e no Brasil. Nossa hipótese é a de que esses filmes apresentam uma proposta de ruptura com as concepções de tempo hegemônicas, abrindo a possibilidade do resgate e manutenção de modos de vida das culturas originárias dos dois países. Isso os distancia da lógica produtiva/capitalista vigente, desconectando o tempo da economia para vivê-lo em confluência com os ciclos da natureza. As principais obras escolhidas para análise são Morte na Terra de Encantos (Kagadanan sa Banwaan ning mga Engkanto, Lav Diaz, 2007), Crianças da tempestade, Livro 1 (Mga Anak ng Unos, Unang Aklat, Lav Diaz, 2014), Nh Yãg M Yõg Hãm: Essa terra é nossa! (Isael Maxakali e Sueli Maxakali, Carolina Canguçu e Roberto Romero, 2020) e Konãgxeka: O Dilúvio Maxakali (Isael Maxakali, Charles Bicalho, 2016). Realizados em regiões antípodas no globo, sugerimos que esses filmes conjugam um mesmo gesto ao abrirem trilhas para pensar o fazer cinematográfico como uma prática orgânica, que se integra com culturas originárias e com a natureza. Desse modo, o cinema pode ser compreendido como uma ferramenta de denúncia da destruição e do desaparecimento, mas, ao mesmo tempo, como uma força de reconstrução.

The research aims to investigate, from a counter-colonialist perspective, the conception of ancestral space and time present in recent cinematographic works made in the Philippines and Brazil. Our hypothesis is that these films propose a break with hegemonic conceptions of time, opening up the possibility of rescuing and maintaining the ways of life of the original cultures of both countries. This distances them from the current production/capitalist logic, disconnecting time from the economy and understanding it in confluence with the cycles of nature. The main works chosen for analysis are Death in the Land of Encantos (Kagadanan sa Banwaan ning mga Engkanto, Lav Diaz, 2007), Storm Children: Book One (Mga Anak ng Unos, Unang Aklat, Lav Diaz, 2014), Nh Yãg M Yõg Hãm: This Land is Ours! (Isael Maxakali and Sueli Maxakali, Carolina Canguçu and Roberto Romero, 2020) and Konãgxeka: O Dilúvio Maxakali (Isael Maxakali, Charles Bicalho, 2016). Made in antipodean regions of the globe, we suggest that these films combine the same gesture by opening up trails for thinking about filmmaking as an organic practice that intermingles with original cultures and nature. In this way, cinema can be understood as a tool for denouncing destruction and disappearance, but at the same time as a force for reconstruction.
