Abstract in English
This research aims to promote a narratological study of the telenovela Avenida Brasil, in order to identify the ways in which it relates to Greek tragedies based on what we call the presence of Electre - that is, a multiplicity of contemporary narratives in which presents a journey of the heroine in search of revenge against the death of her father, whose target is, oftenly, the mother figure. In its development, the research also highlights ethical and aesthetic elements of Avenida Brasil's narrative in order to compare them to the epic theater of Bertolt Brecht, thus characterizing it as an example of what an epic telenovela would be.
