Esta dissertação trata da análise cinemática tridimensional de mecanismos gerais. Parâmetros de Euler são utilizados como coordenadas de orientação de sólidos no espaço carteziano. Um programa, escrito em linguagem Turbo Pascal, permite que se efetive a análise proposta. O programa foi testado mediante uma série de exemplos, que vão do mais básico até casos mais complexos. Os resultados obtidos são comparados com os de outros métodos que estão disponíveis em livros e artigos. O programa desenvolvido, Young, sendo pouco exigente em termos de poder computacional, pode ser utilizado em quase todos os computadores pessoais. A entrada de dados pode ser feita pelo teclado como por arquivo. Devido a estrutura modular adotada, ele admite que se adicionem características complementares que permitam, por exemplo, o tratamento de outros tipos de vínculos compostos ou, até mesmo, uma análise dinâmica.

This dissertation focus on the computer-aided kinematic analysis of general spatial mechanisms. Euler parameters were used for orientation of bodies in 3-D. The computer program Young was written in language Turbo Pascal for kinematic analysis of spatial mechanisms. A series of tests were made from very basic to more complex. The results were compared with those of other methods, softwares referred in several books or papers. The software Young needs little computer power. It can be used in any PC. The Input can be selected to be done either through the keyboard or through a file. This software is of modular nature and the present implementation involves only the main components. Many futher developments like composite joints as well as dynamic analysis can bem ade following the same methods.
