Keywords in Portuguese
Funções de Green

Abstract in English
This work delas with a one-dimensional transient heat transfer problem in which a liquid occuping initially the semi-infinite space x > 0, solidifies due to convection heat transfer with the ambiente. The problem was solved using a Greens function method and a explicit finite difference method. The results obtained with the two methods showed good agrément and when the acceptable error was 1% the finite difference method showed a better computational performance.
