Abstract in English
This work describes an experimental investigation into the properties of the vortex shedding wakes generated by cylindrical bluff bodies of various shapes placed in a cross fluid flow. Particular attention was given to the influence of cross-sectional geometry on the strength of the vortexes, determined from the periodic signal yielded by a hot-wire anemometer probe. The parametrization of the measured signal, in terms of a non-dimensional signal to noise ratio, made possible the analysis and comparision concerning the behaviour of the different bluffbodies. Additionally, the Strouhal number and the pressure loss of each cylinder was also determined.
