A concentração de fluorita por flotação é usualmente conduzida com ácidos graxos em meio alcalino e a seletividade do processo é implementada através da adição de agentes modificadores. Uma vez que o desempenho de ácidos graxos é considerado como sendo muito sensível à dureza da água onde estes atuam, o presente trabalho estuda a influência da concentração de cálcio e magnésio (dissolvidos na polpa) na seletividade da separação fluorita/quartzo com oleato de sódio (100mg/L) em pH=10. The concentration of fluorite by froth flotation is usually carried out with fatty acids at alkaline medium and the selectivity of the process is enhanced by the addition of modifying agents. Since fatty acid performance has long been regarded as very sensitive to water hardness, this work studies the influence of Ca and Mg (dissolved in the pulp) on the selectivity of the separation fluorite/quartz by flotation with sodium oleate (100 mg/L) at pH=10.
