Abstract in English
The present work delas with the evaluation of ships steering and maneuvring qualities by means of full scale and free-running model tests. Ships motion and dynamics are described by a non-linear simplified mathematical model, that permits the analysis of ships course stability. The methods and procedures of tests, as well as the experimental devices that are necessary, are introduced, and are applied to a ship with a high degree of course instability and its scale model. It is proposed to solve the problem of poor course stability with the introduction of a new method of automatic control that stabilizes directionally the ship.
