Title in Portuguese
O efeito da celulose microfibrilada no fibrocimento.
Keywords in Portuguese
Celulose
Celulose microfibrilada.
Fibrocimento

Abstract in English
This dissertation had as main objective to evaluate the incorporation of microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) in the properties of fiber cement reinforced with PVA fibers. For this, were analyzed in fiber cements, rheological properties, in the fresh state, and physical, mechanical properties and microstructure, in the hardened state. Therefore, the incorporation of microfibrillated cellulose in cementitious suspensions resulted in a delay in the hydration of the cement. Fiber cement with refined pulp and flocculant (PR_f) showed lower flowability in the fresh state and attenuation of physical and mechanical properties due to the poorly cohesive microstructure formed in the hardened state. Fiber cement with partial replacement of cellulosic pulp by microfibrillated cellulose (PR_mfcA) had better conformation capacity in the pressing process, resulting in a more cohesive microstructure, improving physical properties and, consequently, mechanical properties.
