Abstract in English
The modern organization’s characteristics have culminated in a crisis that affects the Human being and Nature relation. In hindsight, this work took into consideration a Physical Education’s outlook in order to reflect on the Human being -Nature relationship and its contribution to the complexity of this theme. To achieve this result, academic, documental and field researches (direct observation and free interviews) were used to analyze: the meaning of Nature for fishermen and surfers; how the complexity of the meanings contained in their relationship with natural world - the fishermen’s based on their work experiences and the surfers’ based on leisure -contributed to think leisure-work relation; and how the environmental theme, visualized by CONBRACE’s scientific findings (2001, 2003 and 2005), placed itself within the field of Physical Education. These objectives have also brought up elements to be considered in the professional make-up of Physical Education. Thus, the research revealed a multiplicity of factors - the participation; the self-awareness; the freedom; the fruition of feelings and emotions; the potential exercise of playful and others - that stimulated both fishing and surfing, pointing to a dynamic work-leisure relation rather than indicating time segmentation. On the other hand, the scientific findings indicated a scarcity of environmental-themed references and the need of alternative ways of thinking, acting, and feeling the body based in values and meanings closer to the human dimension of human beings despite the presence of little reflection in this direction. To conclude, this privileged work approach was grounded on the encounter between Physical Education and the Collective Health, as fields of knowledge production and professional intervention that conduct to other views, not so explored in the specific area.
