Neste trabalho estudamos a equacao de hamilton-jacobi com uma condicao inicial dada, no contexto das funcoes generalizadas de colombeau. Estabelecemos um teorema de existencia de solucoes, utilizando uma tecnica baseada no metodo classico das caracteristicas, e alguns resultados parciais sobre a unicidade. Esta tecnica nos levou a obter, no contexto das aplicacoes generalizadas, alguns resultados sobre a inversibilidade global dessas aplicacoes e tambem sobre equacoes diferenciais ordinarias
