Abstract in English
Hierarchical data structures occur in many studies. They are characterized by the presence of experimental units nested in larger ones. Hierarchical linear models can be used to analyse this type of data. These models constitute a new formulationfor random effects associated to teach level. Two-level hierarchical linear models are introduced and illustrated by some submodels, including the estimation theory and the hypothesis testing. Two applications are presented: the first one inEducation and the other one in Medicine, both executed using two software: HLM and SAS. The last application shows how data from a longitudinal study can be treated under the hierarchical linear model approach
