Abstract in English
This work consists of a facial animation system that uses real three-dimensional models of people, acquired by a 3D scanner. The considered database is composed by models displaying different facial expressions that are animated using two techniques. One method is to apply a linear interpolation process using the scanned meshes as keyframes, while the other approach generates new facial expressions from a neutral face, using a parametric model based on the MPEG-4 animation standard. In both cases, it is necessary to define point-to-point correspondences between the facial meshes: in the first one, the interpolated meshes should be registered and, in the second, it is necessary to adapt the neutral mesh to a parametric model that will define its deformation during the animation process.
