Surrealismo

Surrealism
Abstract in English
Surrealism was embraced by people who was unsatisfied with postwar society situation and engaged in expression through poetry, painting, essay and a particular attitude on their lives, by means of the critics of realism and a new vision towards reality, with the surreal. On psychoanalysis, Freud was led to overcome an internal/external dichotomy, as well as a normal/pathological one, in order to answer about observed phenomena which were not apprehensible by current objective scientificity, thus implying a new conception of reality, later reformulated by Lacan under the concept of real. Breton, surrealism leader, based on his clinical experience and readings of Freud, developed the automatic writing, first surrealist method. Lacan acquired knowledge of Salvador Dalis texts, and the artist, a few years later, read his doctoral thesis while was developing the paranoiac-critical activity, a method used by surrealists after the Second Surrealism Manifesto publication. The hypothesis put forward suggests that surrealism had a fundamental importance on the formation of Lacans concept of real and that there are points of convergence between real and surreal. This research covers some surrealist texts, especially André Bretons and Salvador Dalis, as well as Jacques Lacans until 1964, the year when he defines real as the impossible, a relevant turn for the present analysis. Another subjacent matter, not less important, refers to consequences on the understanding of the real for a new ethics conception, for both psychoanalysis clinic and surrealist art. As well as for psychoanalysis, surrealism is act, ruled by an ethic, and both presuppose the subject autonomy
