Tendo em vista o período de transição entre os modelos de conjugalidade na atualidade e suas contradições entre o que muda e o que permanece, a presente dissertação teve como objetivo compreender como ocorre a construção e manutenção do vínculo conjugal a partir do estudo de três gerações de uma família, segundo a série This is us. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, que se utilizou da psicanálise aplicada, em que o seriado This is us foi tomado como um caso clínico e interpretado à luz dos estudos psicossociais acerca das modificações na conjugalidade e nos papéis sociais e dos apontamentos da Psicanálise Vincular sobre a transmissão psíquica. Observou-se que a conjugalidade da terceira geração, embora tenha sido construída em meio aos valores contemporâneos, sofreu a influência dos conteúdos e dos pactos inconscientes do grupo familiar no qual se subjetivaram. Tomando a história geracional da família Pearson, evidenciou-se que os acordos amorosos foram realizados de forma a manter os sintomas e os não ditos; com a concomitância entre os valores do contemporâneo e do passado, os quais indicaram uma transmissão dos papéis sociais e do modo de ser casal dos pais. A escolha dos parceiros nessa terceira geração visava à reprodução do modelo familiar associada aos lugares que cada filho ocupava em sua família de origem. Diante disso, foi possível compreender que o modelo de conjugalidade transmitido pelos pais se repetiu nos filhos, indicando que alguns conteúdos não puderam contar com uma continência psíquica para virem à tona, serem apropriados e dotados de um novo significado em seus descendentes. Assim, a análise do material visou também contribuir com a clínica de casal e família na medida em que traz à tona todo o jogo relacional entre as gerações

Considering todays transition period between the models of conjugality and the contradictions between what changes and what remains, the present dissertation aimed to understand how the construction and maintenance of the conjugal bond occur through the study of three generations of a family, according to TV series This is us. This is a qualitative research, which used applied psychoanalysis, in which the series This is us was taken as a clinical case and interpreted in the light of the notes of Link Psychoanalysis about psychic transmission and the psychosocial studies about the changes in conjugality and in the social roles. It was observed that the conjugality of the third generation, although it was built in the midst of contemporary values, suffered the influence of the contents and the unconscious pacts of the family group in which they were subjectivated. In the generational history of the Pearson family, it was evident that the romantic agreements were made in order to maintain the symptoms and the non-said; with the concomitance between the values of the contemporary and the past, which indicated a transmission of social roles and the parents type of couplehood. The partner choice in this third generation aimed at reproducing the family model associated with the roles that each child played in his or her family of origin. Therefore, it was possible to understand that the conjugal model transmitted by parents was repeated in their children, showing that some contents couldnt find psychic continence to emerge, be appropriated and endowed with a new meaning in their descendants. Thus, the analysis of the material also aimed to contribute to the couple and family clinic as it uncovers the dynamics between the generations as a whole
