Abstract in English
The teaching of mathematics for years have suffered and still suffers from the abstraction that was submitted to school mathematics, often causing the detachment of discipline on the part of students. In search of new approaches to work with mathematical content, music emerges as a facilitator in this process, using an interdisciplinary work, which can be exploited in different ways, whether rhythmic or melodic. Thinking about the mathematical relationships present in the melodic construction of Western music, the study of the concepts of ratio and proportion becomes central to understanding the changes that occurred during the music history and contrast of some mathematical terms such as ratio, proportion, quotient, fraction and decimal numbers. With the enactment of Federal Law No. 11.769/08 that determines the requirement for teaching music in Brazilian schools of basic education, the discussion of the musical-mathematical relationships intensify and open a way for an interdisciplinary approach linking Mathematics Education and Music Education , working in both content areas, but under the professor of mathematics views. For the construction of knowledge by following this approach, this paper proposes an interdisciplinary practice using workshops, exploring and enhancing the process of investigation and research, and promote the autonomy and critical thinking of students.
