Na sociedade atual, inúmeros produtos e conteúdos midiáticos, apropriados e reelaborados criativamente pelas crianças em processos de interação com os pares e com os adultos, integram as culturas da infância. Dentre esses produtos culturais, as séries de animação veiculadas na TV participam, com destaque, das experiências cotidianas das crianças. O objetivo principal dessa tese é compreender os modos como as crianças assistem, interagem e dão sentidos às narrativas das séries de animação. A pesquisa se inscreve no marco da investigação qualitativa e participativa. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de análise microssocial, de cunho interpretativo, integrada à área dos Estudos da infância e das crianças a qual se conjuga de forma interdisciplinar com os estudos culturais latino-americanos da área da Comunicação. A pesquisa foi realizada com um grupo de crianças de nove e dez anos de uma turma de 4º ano de uma escola pública de Belo Horizonte. As estratégias metodológicas envolveram a observação participante, entrevistas em pequenos grupos e oficinas nas quais as crianças assistiram às séries de animação, conversaram em roda sobre os episódios assistidos, elaboraram gêneros relativos às séries como reconto, teleteatro, entrevistas e animações. Analisou-se como as crianças, em suas experiências cotidianas, interagem com as séries de animação, os fatores que participam desse processo, as escolhas e as motivações das crianças, as perspectivas e os posicionamentos que assumem, as imagens que associam e os valores que imprimem às narrativas das séries de animação. Foi possível perceber como as multimediações participam do processo de recepção, assim como compreender as ações, relativas ao pensar, agir e sentir, por meio das quais as crianças elaboram os sentidos ao interagirem com as séries de animação, dando respostas às suas próprias motivações e desejos.

In today's society, innumerable media products and contents, creatively appropriated and reprocessed by children in processes of interaction with peers and adults, integrate the cultures of childhood. Among these cultural products, the series of TV animation participate, with emphasis, in the daily experiences of children. The main objective of this thesis is to understand the ways children watch, interact and give meanings to the narratives of the animation series. The research subscribes the qualitative and participatory research framework. It is a research of microssocial analysis, of interpretive nature, integrated to the area of the Childhood and childrens Studies that it is conjugated in an interdisciplinary way with the Latin-American cultural studies of the area of Communication. The research was carried out with a group of nine-and ten-year-old children from a 4th grade public school class in the city of Belo Horizonte. Methodological strategies involved participant observation, interviews in small groups and workshops in which the children watched the animation series, talked about the episodes they had watched, elaborated genres related to the series such as retelling, teletheater, interviews and animations. It was analyzed how children, in their daily experiences, interact with the animation series, the factors that participate in this process, the choices and motivations of the children, the perspectives and the positions they assume, the images they associate and the values they attribute to the narratives of the animation series. It was possible to perceive how multimediation participate in the reception process, as well as to understand the actions related to thinking, acting and feeling, through which children elaborate the senses when interacting with the animation series, giving answers to their own motivations and wishes.
