Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo compreender e analisar a Revista Educando como estratégia de formação dos (as) professores (as) primários e de formação do campo educacional de Minas Gerais no ínterim de 1940 a 1945, criada pela Associação dos (das) Professores (as) primários de Minas Gerais (APPMG). Para a análise optou-se por apoiá-la em três elementos distintos e ao mesmo tempo complementares: a Revista Educando como suporte de textos, os próprios textos nela publicados e as práticas pedagógicas divulgadas. Nesse sentido, a escrita desse estudo foi organizada em três capítulos. Sendo a Revista Educando produzida pela Associação dos (as) Professores (as) Primários de Minas Gerais (APPMG) e publicada durante o período de suspensão da Revista do Ensino, o primeiro capítulo procurou compreender o papel da APPMG na formação dos (as) professores (as) primários, as motivações que levaram a criação e o contexto da sua publicação e circulação. No capítulo seguinte, foram descritos e analisados os aspectos referentes à materialidade da Revista Educando. Por fim, analisou-se as correspondências divulgadas entre o público leitor e a redação do impresso, bem como o Concurso Permanente de Educando. Cabe destacar ainda que a Revista Educando foi analisada como estratégia de formação de professores, considerando as suas condições de produção e de apropriação, as quais tinham o intuito de direcionar as leituras e as práticas dos (das) professores (as) primários mineiros (as).

The purpose of this research was to comprehend and analyze the strategies of Educando magazine (Educating magazine) for the development of primary school teachers and the qualification of the pedagogical domain of expertise in Minas Gerais, in the period from 1940 to 1945. Three distinct and, at the same time, complementary elements were used in order to ground this study: the magazine itself as a material support of writing, the texts published in it, and its appropriation through the pedagogical practices it advertised. These elements entailed the organization of this study in three chapters. Since Educando magazine was produced by the Primary School Teachers Association of Minas Gerais (APPMG) and published in the same period of time when Ensino magazine (Teaching magazine) had been suspended, the first chapter in this investigation sought to figure out the role of APPMG in the primary school teachers development, the main motive for the release of this pedagogical printed material and the context that gave rise to the creation of Educando magazine. In the following chapter, aspects concerning the materiality of Educando magazine were described and analyzed. Finally, the exchange of correspondence between the readers and the editorial staff of the magazine, as well as the Permanent Educating Contest were assessed. It must be pointed out that Educando magazine was analyzed in regard to its teachers training strategies, and its circumstances of production and application were taken into account in view of the fact that its main purpose was to guide the readings and the practices of primary school teachers in Minas Gerais.
