Esta tese de doutorado consiste de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e de campo, cujo objetivo é analisar e discutir a heurística matemática como sendo uma potencializadora dos processos de ensino-aprendizagem nessa área do conhecimento. Para uma melhor compreensão desse potencial, apresentamos inicialmente os fundamentos da heurística matemática e o que dissertam importantes pesquisadores a respeito do tema. Em seguida, debatemos sobre a relação entre a heurística e o desenvolvimento do conhecimento científico, realçando a necessidade de explorá-la nas aulas dessa disciplina. Posteriormente, analisamos se ela é passível de ser vista como um processo capaz de reduzir o desinteresse e aumentar o aprendizado dos estudantes nas aulas de Matemática. Finalmente, no ultimo capítulo, discutimos a importância de conceber a heurística como uma metodologia de ensino eficiente, que quando incorporada ao processo educacional ameniza as problemáticas existentes nessa área do conhecimento.

This doctoral thesis consists of a bibliographical and field research, which aim to analyze and to discuss the mathematical heuristic as being a potentiator of the teaching-learning processes in this area of knowledge. For a better understanding of its potential, we initially present the fundamentals of mathematical heuristics and what important scientists say about the subject. Next, we discuss the relationship between heuristics and the development of scientific knowledge, emphasizing the need to explore it in the classes of this subject. Then we analyze whether it can be seen as a process capable of reducing disinterest and increasing students learning in Mathematics classes. Finally, in the last chapter, we discuss the importance of conceiving heuristics as an eficient teaching methodology, which when incorporated into the educational process softens the existing problems in this area of knowledge.
