Keywords in Portuguese
Cheikh Anta Diop
Educação das relações étnico-raciais
Lei 10639/2003
Teoria antirracista

Abstract in English
In dialogue with articles 26-A, 79-A and 79-B of Law No. 9.394, of December 20, 1996, which establishes the teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian history and culture in basic education, this research analyzes theoretical aspects of Cheikh Anta Diop's work, seeking to identify the contributions of African and Afro-diasporic intellectuals to the development of the re-education of ethnic-racial relations in Brazil. Based on a bibliographical review and an analysis of the legal provisions governing Brazilian school education, the research shows the presence of some of Diop's theses in educational processes aimed at eradicating racism. It also shows how some of the proposals in the Curricular Guidelines for the Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations and the teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian history and culture incorporate certain philosophical and theoretical principles characteristic of contemporary African thought.
