Esta pesquisa investiga os reflexos da participação de jovens nas ocupações de escolas públicas ocorridas em 2015 e 2016 na Região Metropolitana de Sorocaba, interior de São Paulo. Para isso, foram conduzidas entrevistas compreensivas com um total de 19 jovens, sendo oito deles(as) entrevistados(as) em duas etapas, com aproximadamente dois anos de diferença entre cada uma. Do ponto de vista teórico, a pesquisa é amparada pelos estudos da Sociologia da Juventude na sua interface com os engajamentos políticos em especial pelas pesquisas que analisaram os movimentos sociais e ações coletivas da segunda década do século XXI bem como pela Sociologia do Indivíduo, com ênfase nas obras de Danilo Martuccelli. A análise dos relatos revela uma diversidade de percursos, tanto no que se refere aos engajamentos quanto em relação a outros domínios, como educação, trabalho, vida afetiva e familiar. Esses, por sua vez, configuram-se em desafios comuns enfrentados pelos(as) jovens em seus processos de conquista de autonomia e independência, em um contexto marcado por uma conjunção de crises econômica, política, ambiental, sanitária e geopolítica. No que se refere especificamente às ressonâncias da participação nas ocupações no âmbito da continuidade ou não dos engajamentos políticos, observa-se que a experiência foi um marcador em suas trajetórias e é concebida de forma positiva pelos(as) jovens entrevistados(as). Contudo, experiências posteriores em partidos políticos e/ou coletivos refletiram diferentes relações com a política sobretudo com as organizações políticas , sendo ora positivas, ora negativas. Questões relativas ao gênero, à orientação sexual e à religiosidade emergiram de forma intensa em seus relatos, conjuntamente ao desejo por horizontalidade e apoio mútuo entre os membros das organizações, bem como o anseio pela possibilidade do dissenso.

This research investigates the effects of youth participation in the occupations of public schools that took place in 2015 and 2016 in the Metropolitan Region of Sorocaba, in the interior of São Paulo. For this purpose, comprehensive interviews were conducted with a total of 19 young people, eight of whom were interviewed in two stages, approximately two years apart. Theoretically, the research is supported by studies in the Sociology of Youth in its interface with political engagement particularly by research that analyzed social movements and collective actions of the second decade of the 21st century as well as by the Sociology of the Individual, with an emphasis on the works of Danilo Martuccelli. The analysis of the narratives reveals a diversity of paths, both in terms of engagements and other domains such as education, work, personal, and family life. These, in turn, constitute common challenges faced by young people in their processes of achieving autonomy and independence, in a context marked by a conjunction of crises economic, political, environmental, sanitary, and geopolitical. Specifically regarding the repercussions of participation in the occupations on the continuity or discontinuity of political engagements, it is observed that the experience was a significant marker in their trajectories and is perceived positively by the young people interviewed. However, subsequent experiences in political parties and/or collectives reflected different relationships with politics especially with political organizations sometimes positive, sometimes negative. Issues related to gender, sexual orientation, and religiosity emerged intensely in their narratives, along with a desire for horizontality and mutual support among members of the organizations, as well as an aspiration for the possibility of dissent.
