Inseticidas Organoclorados
Resíduos de Praguicidas

Abstract in English
Bringing attention to the frequency and the levels of organochlorine pesticide residues, 2,653 samples of the bovine carcasses collected from slaugtherhouses by federal government were analysed throughout 1983. Analyses for organochlorine pesticide residues were made using electron--capture gas chromatography. Pesticide residues were found in 100% of samples, without however exceeding the acceptable limits and in 49 samples were detected pesticide above the tolerance limit. DDT, BHC and dieldrin residues were the predominant contaminants detected and mirex, HCB, aldrin and chlordane the least detected. Maximum leveIs of these pesticides were mirex (2.43 ppm), BHC (1.44 ppm) and dieldrin (1.00 ppm) respectively.
