Abstract in English
Acne is a disease that affects a high percentage of the world population, issues such as stress, hormonal disorders, food and environmental pollution may begin to unleash this disease that not only affects the skin, but can also affect the self-esteem of patients; in search of alternatives that can combat this problem and that is beneficial to the skin by preventing harmful effects, if you started using products of vegetable origin, in order to reduce acne products like the excessive dryness of the skin; as a new alternative, if worked with oils of moriche Palm (Mauritia flexuosa), carrot (Daucus carota) and annatto (Bixa Orellana) that in different cultures mainly in the area of the Amazon, these oils are used as an astringent, antibacterial and healing, these properties in conjunction with the queratolíticas properties of salicylic acid on antibacterial action of tea tree oil can generate a product effective in the treatment of acne. Characteristics such as the antioxidant capacity of the oils are evaluated since molecules with these properties can weaken the bacteria that cause acne, for this was carried out the methodology Folin Ciocalteu and ABTS that allows to determine the amount of phenolic compounds and the antioxidant capacity respectively, subsequently was developed through formulation of the methodology of the ternary diagram to determine the existence of differences in the behavior of each of the oils in the emulsions as at cosmetic forms originated; then, was evaluated the behavior of the formulation with the mixture of oils (buriti, carrot and annatto) compared with a formulation that in addition to the mixture of oils, contains salicylic acid and tea tree oil, where it was determined physicochemical differences (pH, conductivity, viscosity), the study and made by 90 days. In order to determine the form of use of the formulation, the spreadability test was done through the technique of glass plates and glass plates on rough surface for which sandpaper of different profils was used, the formulations developed were compared with commercial products where diffusion of the various formulations on various surfaces was observed which gives an idea of the amount and shear force needed by the products to cover an area depending on the conditions of area and the cosmetic form. Another property that was evaluated was the keratolytic potential formulations in comparison with commercial products and a healing agent, whose purpose is to demonstrate the ability of salicylic acid in the decoupling of collagen fibers and keratin. Finally, we evaluated the potential of antimicrobial formulations through the technique of microdilution in Microplates on the microorganisms causing acne (Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis) compared the effectiveness of these formulations with products found on the market.
