A partir do imediato pós-guerra Sartre não apenas encarna de maneira exemplar a figura do intelectual engajado, mas formula um programa e uma fundamentação para o engagement. A compreensão de suas teses e a discussão sobre a pertinência delas exige, por um lado, reconstruir o debate francês em torno da função intelectual e da relação entre literatura e política, debate em que Sartre toma parte, alterando-lhe o rumo. Por outro lado, é preciso explicitar alguns pressupostos de sua obra crítica, ficcional e filosófica. No cruzamento desses dois eixos configura-se a questão do engajamento. Neste trabalho procuro formular essa questão. During the context of the immediate post-war, Sartre begins to not only embody the shape of the committed intellectual in an exemplary way, but to also formulate a program and a foundation for the engagement. The understanding of his theses and the discussion about their relevance requires, on the one hand, the reconstruction of the French debate around the intellectual function and of the relation between politics and literature, a debate in which Sartre takes part, altering its course. On the other hand, it is also necessary to unfold some of the underlying premises of his critical, fictional and philosophical work. The issue of commitment arises in the intersection of these two axes. In this work, I seek to formulate this topic.
