Existe no Brasil um grande circuito de feiras e exposições agropecuárias. Tais eventos apresentam o agronegócio como importante atividade geradora da economia e têm em vários estados da federação - sido palcos de comemoração para as cidades e comunidades que os abrigam. Localidades de diversos tamanhos, espalhadas pelos quatro cantos do país, possuem uma feira cuja apresentação da produção agrícola ou pastoril divide espaço com aclamadas atividades de lazer: shows das mais requisitadas duplas neo-sertanejas, barracas de jogos de azar e comes e bebes, rodeios e no caso de algumas exposições, requintados restaurantes, bares e boates. Dentre os diversos atores/trabalhadores que se fazem essenciais para o êxito e sucesso dos eventos agropecuários uma categoria específica os peões merece uma especial atenção. Reverenciados por muitos participantes de exposições agropecuárias como os autênticos nativos do universo rural, peões de rodeio, tratadores de gado e peões de manejo executam atividades imprescindíveis para o funcionamento desses eventos. Como uma trupe circense, viajam durante todo ano de exposição em exposição, percorrendo o circuito brasileiro das grandes e pequenas feiras de agronegócio. A presente pesquisa, fruto de observações de campo realizadas nas exposições agropecuárias de Londrina- PR, Campo Grande MS e São Paulo - SP, pretende apreender a dinâmica do circuito de feiras agropecuárias brasileiro, contemplando a análise da rotina de peões nesses eventos e de que maneira o trabalho que esses vaqueiros realizam está por trás de grande parte das atividades de negócios e de lazer presentes nas exposições de pecuária.

There is in Brazil a big farming-&-cattle fair and exhibition circuit. Such events refer agrobusiness as an important economy-booster activity and, in several federated States, are room for celebration in the towns and communities where they take place. Localities of the most different sizes, situated throughout the country have their own fair, whose presentation of farming-&-cattle production share the stage with a range of hailed entertainment events big shows with the most requested duos of neo-sertanejo music, gambling tents, food and drink trailers, rodeo contests and, in some cases, sofisticated restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Among the many core workers/players to the success and good output of these farming-&-cattle events, a particular category, namely the peons, draws special attention. Venerated by many participants in these exhibitions as the ones authentically native from rural universe, rodeo cowboys, cattle ranch hand and handling peons undertake jobs indispensable to the good run of these shows. Like a circus troupe, they travel all the year from fair to fair, scouring the entire Brazilian ciruit of small and big agrobusiness exhibitions. This research a consequence of field investigations undertook on site, in country fairs in the cities of Londrina (PR), Campo Grande (MS) and São Paulo (SP) is intended to apprehend the dinamics of Brazilian farming-&-cattle exhibition circuit, taking into account peons routine in these events and considering the way in which the work accomplished by them is a foundation to a large part of business and entertainment activities running within that show environment.
