Abstract in English
Throughout his work, Milton Santos, (1978a, 1978b, 1996) shows how the process of structuring and restructuring of spaces, is marked by forms of ownership and different land uses and consistent not only with the dominant variables of a given historical period but as well as to the specifics of capitalist expansion in a socio-spatial formation. In this way, the present thesis has as its goal analyze the uses and the Rio Grande do Norte territorys constitutionstarting by the industrial production circuits since the beginning of its expansion to the period of globalization. Thus, we have conducted a research from a secondary and primary sources, which we have got informations and datas in public and private institutions and also interviews with those involved agents in the studied problem. The conclusions we have achieved allow us to argue that the dynamics of the territory uses in Rio Grande do Norte by production industry circuits, produced three distinct territorial features marked by a specific way of production, expressed in the existence of territorial divisions of labor, in which combine techniques, standards and money. In the first period, Rio Grande do Norte is constituted as a derivative space, obedient to orders and commands of the European economy, a situation that prevails until the mid-1960s;a second period, after a process of disruption and restructuring, Rio Grande do Norte is now dominated by a hierarchical state that raised the Brazilian industrialization the central variable condition to the dynamics of the territories; Finally, is developing a third period from the advance of globalization, in which the Potiguar territory uses is gradually incorporating the technical systems, regulatory and organizational imposed by the agents and institutions of the global economy.
