Esta pesquisa busca compreender os diferentes usos do território na cidade de São Paulo sob a perspectiva particular do samba, visto que ele pode ser retratado espacialmente. A partir dos distintos usos territoriais pelos sambistas, houve a articulação entre a teoria e o trabalho de campo, alcançando-se uma explicação crítica das territorialidades presentes no mundo do samba, e realizando-se um aprofundamento teórico-metodológico na problemática que envolve o território e a cultura. Nesse sentido, tornaram-se evidentes os mecanismos pelos quais as práticas sociais, discursos e representações subjetivas dos sambistas se territorializam e atuam como contrafinalidade. Tais ações privilegiam a vivência e o lazer durante o ano todo, não só no carnaval, além de estruturarem redes de sociabilidade que geram territorialidades com um sentido essencialmente coletivo.

This research attempts to understand the different uses of the paulistano territory in the context of the events which are associated with the samba in Sao Paulo city. From the different territorial uses by sambistas, there was a joint between the theory and the work of field, reaching a critical explanation of the territorialities in the world of samba and focusing on the problem that involves the territory and the culture. In this sense, the mechanisms through which the samba occupies in social practices and subjective representations became evident; acting as against-finality. All these practices benefit the experience and the leisure over the whole year, not only at Carnival, besides structuralizing sociability nets that generate territorialities in an essentially collective sense.
