Keywords in Portuguese
Economia Política
Fisiocracia
Liberalismo

Abstract in English
The objective of the work is to investigate the French origin of the economic writings of the Enlightenment era, especially in the authors of the so-called physiocracy. Based on the selection of some representatives of eighteenth-century French liberal economic thought, the reading of some of his main productions in the field of economic theory, complemented, whenever opportune and viable, by his non-economic writings – as well as the resulting opportunities of analysis awakened from this initial task – it was hoped to reveal possible links with the forms of economic representation of reality that are predominant until contemporary times, and the extent to which certain recurring patterns in economic theory originate from or have been historically determined by the admission of certain assumptions , which currently still deserve to be studied
