Abstract in English
This paper analyzes the black female activism of Rosa Parks and Nina Simone during the Civil Rights Movement in the United States in the 1950s and 1960s. Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on the bus to a white person and Montgomery city bus boycott began, and Nina Simone was one of the singers who translated black activism for the civil rights of black people through her protest songs. The objective is to realize a critique reading of Rosa Parks and Nina Simones self-writing, prioritizing the authors autobiographies My Story, by Rosa Parks, and I Put a Spell on You, by Nina Simone to understand the ways these activists chose to organize themselves politically in the movement. Thus, by the writings of these activists, the forms of activism of black women and their role in the movement were understood. Through the particular trajectories of Parks and Simone, it was also sought to understand the relationship of their experiences with the historical events of the movement
