Abstract in English
In Brazil, since the 1930´s, the compulsory isolation of leppers became a State policy. According to Health Public professinals who were against the segregation of the deseased, at that moment, the compulsory isolation would be a social need only for extreme infectious cases. As medicine cure became a reality, arguments for isolation started failing, but the isolation itself ended in 1967. The period in which state isolation is stablished is strongly stained by totalitarian issues, and the nazi-fascism is its highest point. Those ideas, based upon the decaying irrational philosophy, have also been an influence on Brazilian intellectuality, which contributed towards the compulsory and indiscriminate isolation. For Brazil, such period also meant the making of its monopolist and capitalist State, whose profile is the ruling force on working class (opression), and its sustainance (exploitation), as tools for the new coming plus-value extracting dynamics. Public Health is a govern apparatus, which, with Vargas, is a concrete mechanism for the making of Brazils Monopolism.
