As partículas modais do alemão constituem uma grande dificuldade no ensino e aprendizagem do alemão como língua estrangeira. O presente trabalho apresenta primeiramente, uma caracterização geral da partícula modal a partir de teorias que descrevem suas funções pragmáticas, semânticas e sintáticas. Em seguida, aborda os motivos pelos quais essas partículas geram tal dificuldade, ressaltando alguns aspectos a serem considerados em sua aquisição. Como exemplo de análise, foi escolhida a partícula doch, examinando-se suas diferentes acepções e aplicações. Tais aplicações são analisadas em uma amostra real de língua falada

German modal particles usually bring difficulties to both German teachers and studentes. This work presents a general characterizations of the modal particles based on some theories which describe their pragmatic, semantic and syntatic functions. The sources of such difficulties are also dealth with, emphasizing points that should be considered in the acquisition of German as a foreign language. Doch was chosen as an example of the analysis of a modal particle and its various possible meanings and uses are discussed. Finally, the occurrences of such uses are verified in an authentic corpus of spoken language.Die deutschen Modalpartikeln bereiten den Deutschlehrern und -lernenden sehr oft Lehr- und Lernschwierigkeiten. Die vorliegende Arbeit stellt einem Überblick über die Eigenschaften der Modalpartiken vor, indem man auf Theorien basiert, die die pragmatischen, semantischen und syntaktischen Funktionen dieser Elemente beschreiben. Untersucht werden auch die möglichen Ursachen der Schwierigkeiten bei der Aneignung der Modalpartiken und einige Punkte hervorgehoben, die bei der Behandlung dieser Elemente im Deutschunterricht in Kauf genommen werden sollten. Anhand eines Körpus gesprochener Sprache wird "doch" als Beispiel für die linguistische Analyse der Modalpartikeln genommen.
