Abstract in English
The main purpose of this research is to make a comparative analysis of the main novels of Eça de Queiroz (The Crime of Father Amaro, The Cousin Basilio, The Maias, The Illustrious Ramires' House and The City and the Mountains), and try to observe how the representation of the feminine happens and how it is guided by the idealized and socially conformed masculine conceptin of both the narrator and the male characters. We want to introduce how this women's conception is modified in each novel represented realistically by the Portuguese writer, it results in different opinions, idealizations and concepts about them. In this way, we want to demonstrate that Eça de Queirós denounces the women's oppression in the nineteenth century somehow.
