Estética e ética, a despeito de acepções bastante restritas, podem concernir a significados muito comuns em se tratando de literatura. A propósito, determinadas condições histórico-culturais ensejam que as preocupações sociais e as inquietações poéticas se imbriquem de modo que ambas pareçam ser tão somente uma. Os Poetas do Povo e da Periferia, epítetos pelos quais são conhecidos, respectivamente, Solano Trindade e Sérgio Vaz, emergem de extratos sociais empobrecidos e, ao mesmo tempo, contextos culturais enriquecedores. A despeito de distantes no tempo e no espaço, as trajetórias específicas de cada um deles conduzem-nos a mobilizar proposições similares de arte. Solano Trindade cresce em um contexto de efervescência cultural popular e, a partir de suas experiências pessoais, engendra uma arte do povo pelo povo, valorizando tradições brasileiras, africanas, afrobrasileiras. Sérgio Vaz cresce em um contexto de tensões sociais (vulnerabilidade econômica e violência exacerbada dos grandes centros urbanos) e transição entre a cultura popular e a cultura de massa e, a partir dessas experiências de vida, concebe uma arte da periferia pela periferia. Trata-se, em ambos os casos, de poetas que se tornam mais do que intelectuais; viram artistas-cidadãos; isto é, encarnam os Poetas do Povo e da Periferia um tipo específico de intelectualidade, aquela que, por meio do compartilhamento de arte, visa à partilha de saberes e a transformações sociais. Ancorado nos fundamentos dos estudos de Literatura Comparada, zarpa esta pesquisa em reflexões atinentes à formação de uma Paideia, por ambos os poetas - na história da Literatura Brasileira -, que não apenas inova no modo como se tematiza o excluído (sobretudo, pobres, negros, nordestinos, mulheres), alcançando-o ao protagonismo, tornando positivas características que lhe são peculiares, mas na maneira como se (re)estiliza a linguagem do povo nas composições poéticas que produzem. Para tanto, discorrer-se-á acerca de como Solano Trindade e Sérgio Vaz tornam-se referência para leitores, outros literatos, pesquisadores e ativistas (culturais e sociais). Destarte, por um lado, tratar-se-á de seus ativismos, por outro de seus poemas; no caso da produção literária, o enfoque convergirá ao tratamento ético e estético acerca da mulher, da criança e do adolescente e, enfim, da humanidade na figura do homem.

Aesthetics and ethics, despite very narrow meanings, may concern meanings very common when it comes from literature. By the way, certain historical-cultural conditions give rise to social concerns and poetic concerns to intermingle, so that both seem to be just one. The Poets of the People and the Periphery, epithets for which Solano Trindade and Sérgio Vaz are known, respectively, emerge from impoverished social strata and, at the same time, enriching cultural contexts. Despite distances in time and space, the specific trajectories of each one lead us to mobilize similar propositions of art. Solano Trindade grows up in a context of popular cultural effervescence and, from his personal experiences, engenders an art of people for the people, valuing Brazilian, African and Afro-Brazilian traditions. Sérgio Vaz grows up in a context of social tensions (economic vulnerability and exacerbated violence in large urban centers) and transition between popular culture and mass culture, from these life experiences, conceives an art from the periphery through the periphery. It is in both cases, about poets who had become more than intellectuals; they have become artist-citizens; that is, the Poets of the People and of the Periphery embody a specific type of intellectuality, one that, through the sharing of art, aims at the sharing of knowledge and social transformations. Anchored in the foundations of Comparative Literature studies, this research sets out on reflections related to the formation of a Paideia, by both poets - in the history of Brazilian Literature -, which not only innovates the way of thematic is the excluded (above all, poor, blacks , Northeasterners, women), reaching them to the leading role, making positive characteristics that are peculiar to them, but in the way the language of that people is (re) stylized in the poetic compositions they produce. For this purpose, it will be discussed how Solano Trindade and Sérgio Vaz have become a reference for readers, other literatures, researchers and activists (cultural and social). Thus, on the one hand, it will be about their activisms, on the other hand, their poems; in case of literary production, the focus will converge to the ethical and aesthetic treatment of women, children, adolescents and, finally, humanity in the figure of man.
