Abstract in English
This work aims the analysis of the narrators of the novels Maio, Mês de Maria (1997) and Noites de Vigília (2012), both by the Angolan writer Boaventura Cardoso. Through comparative method, three literary devices supporting the narrator composition were examined, namely: the narrative situations focus and voice -, the forms of the reported speech and the use of animist images. Since the use of these devices differ in each work, comparative analysis was applied to highlight the adequacy of each literary structure to its context. In both productions, the official speech's blanks are articulated in different manners. Maio, Mês de Maria presents a narrative full of rumors and omens, which guide the protagonist's quest for the missing youths, event that alludes to the repression to the Angolan May 27 1977. On the other hand, Noites de Vigília articulate the testimonies of many characters who tell their memories about the colonial past and the Angolan Civil War, in a debate that intends the plurality of voices, but does not reach the dialogism.
