O presente estudo realiza uma leitura psicanalítica do brinquedo na literatura para crianças. Aborda-se o conceito e a história da infância, da literatura para crianças e do brinquedo, como as transformações ocorridas com esses conceitos na atualidade. Estabelece-se uma comparação entre o brinquedo e o livro, considerados produtos culturais. São discutidos o brinquedo e sua dupla expressão, como um objeto inventado pelo adulto e reinventado pela criança. Utilizando a Psicanálise como instrumento de interpretação, a pesquisa faz uma análise de duas histórias clássicas da literatura, do século XIX: O soldadinho de chumbo, do dinamarquês Hans Christian Andersen e Conto de escola, do brasileiro Machado de Assis. Mostra diferentes representações do brinquedo na literatura contemporânea para crianças, do final do século XX e início do século XXI, em treze obras literárias estudadas. As obras trabalhadas compreendem edições nacionais e traduzidas, em diferentes gêneros e categorias: prosa e poesia, narrativas com texto e sem texto verbal. O brinquedo, entendido como o objeto cultural que propicia o encontro entre o universo adulto e o infantil, está representado de diversas maneiras, como uma transgressão, uma catarse, uma via de comunicação da criança com o mundo interno e externo. Depois de apresentadas e analisadas as obras, são estudados o brinquedo e sua ausência, o brinquedo como um retorno à infância e a literatura como brinquedo. São trabalhadas algumas referências sobre o brinquedo dos autores da Psicanálise: Sigmund Freud, Sándor Ferenczi e Donald W. Winnicott.

This research brings a psychoanalytic reading of the toy in the children's literature. The childhood's, literature's and toy's history and concept are discussed, as well as some changes with these concepts nowadays. There is a comparison between the toy and the book, considered cultural products. The toy and its dual expression are discussed, like an object created by the adult and recreated by the child. Having the psychoanalysis as the interpretation instrument, the research analyses two classical tales, written in the 19th Century, The little lead soldier, by the Dennmark author Hans Christian Andersen and A tale of school, by the Brazilian author Machado de Assis. It also shows different representations of the toy in the contemporary children"s literature, in thirteen literary works studied. The thirteen works are national and translation editions, in different genres and categories: narrative and poetry, narrative with text and without text. The toy, seen as a cultural object that promotes the meeting between the adult and the child universe, is represented, in different ways, as a trespass, a catharsis, a way of communication for a child with his insight and outsight world. After presenting and analysing the books, it is studied the toy and its absence, the toy as a returning to the childhood and the literature as a toy. Sigmund Freud, Sándor Ferenczi and Donald W. Winnicott are the psychoanalyst authors worked in some reference books - secondary literature.
