Abstract in English
This thesis analyzes the right-wing political field in Brazil. The research focused analysis of the relationship between protests and institutional politics, aiming to demonstrate how these are processes that, in constant interaction, exert mutual influences. I argue that this field, between 2013 and 2018, significantly connected protest campaigns with processes involving electoral campaigns. To investigate the argument, I conducted a analysis of the concept of the right-wing; a reconstruction of the connections between social movements and elections in Brazil - including the abolitionist movement, the coupist repertoire in the political scene, and the period of the "Diretas Já" demonstrations; and a sociological analysis based on mapping the socio-spatial embedding strategies of groups associated with right-wing agendas and sectors, how these evolved, and whether or not they were transformed into campaign structures in the 2018 elections. I delve into formulations on how processes of popular participation can transform democracies, not only in terms of erosion but, above all, in terms of their strengthening
