Abstract in English
THE WORKS OF ART PRESENTED HERE COMPRISE DIFFERENT SERIES, or territories, whose references map and section my poetic research. In this artistic memoir, I present my output over the last twenty years through different interlocutions between my activity as an artist and as a teacher, resulting in experiments and projects that have contributed to polishing the relations and modes of artistic and didactic production. The focuses of these territories reveal themselves as conjuncts that contemplate the ordering operation and productions of my language. Language, as the semiotic and articulating structure of poetic expression, shot through with a universe in which the interlocutions, procedures and practices of production operate. As such, cultural influences work upon its body, modifying it and drawing out illations of interest and of dialogue between literature, poetry and critical and scientific text. By demonstrating the process and construction of my work, my purpose is to characterize a project, through its diverse territories, in which the created imagination develops, aiming toward the relationship between text and image, as well as intervention in time, rhythm and reading, through different modes of perception. In Black Constructions: Places, we read from images drawn around graphic debris accumulated over the course of various additions and subtractions to the drawing; in Transmutation of the Mute Book, we see the fantastical project of a book of figures from alchemy, transmuted into geometrical images in an evocation of alchemical metaphor; in Constructions: Archaeology Engraved we encounter dark images made in dry point, evoking the halls of memory and ambiguities in the figure-background relationship; in Sundry Papers: Handwritten Places; Artist Books and Kinematographs we see a new endeavour, in which handwritten poetry and the image dialogue around small or large compositions that, with the manipulation of the artistic support and technique, re-emerge drawn or painted onto the pages of an artist’s book, onto kinematographs or magic lanterns, or on sundry sheets of paper.
