Abstract in English
The aim of this work is to propose a methodology for building’s site planning of in a specific site, in order to optimize its thermal, acoustics, lighting and energy performance. This methodology is based on the hypothesis that there are site planning alternatives in which the environmental comfort criteria can be achieved, considering the maximum building’s energy efficiency. The methodology structure is consisted of two specific objectives: – assess the results of different building’s site planning hypothesis on a specific site, and – introduce modifications in the architectural design that can optimize a certain building’s site planning to environmental comfort criteria and energy efficiency. The starting point for the application of this methodology is the characterization of the immediate surroundings of the site and the definition of the local (or regional) climatic conditions. The concept of the immediate surroundings for this work encompasses the buildings from the adjacent sites and the quality of the acoustic environment, generated by the aerial traffic. The regional climatic characteristics vary according the city chosen for building project. The architectural design is characterized by the geometric dimensions, aspects of the building’s envelop and for the characteristics of the programme of activities. To each alternative for the site planning of the building on a specific site, eight topics of performance criteria, applied to the four building’s facades, considering a “typical environment in the first floor and another one in the last floor of the building, to summer and winter scenarios. The results are shown in a “summary board " which allows the identification of which of the criteria were successfully achieved, for the 24 site planning alternatives (corresponding to azimuths of 15° and 15°). Regarding the complexity of the methodology for the performance assessments adopted for each of the environmental topics (thermal, acoustic and lighting comfort and energy efficiency) and the time demanded for such a comprehensive assessment it was developed a software to visualize the proposed methodology. In that context, as the methodology as the software are called “TAO".
