Os assuntos desta Tese são o Ensino da Regência Coral e a Análise Interpretativa em um formato analít ico-sintético. O primeiro capítulo parte de uma ampla discussão sobre o conceito de Coral Escola e sua aplicação aos coros de perfil comunitário e aos coros de estudantes de música. Defende a idéia de que para o aprendizado profundo da Regência Coral é necessária a vivência de experiências artísticas significativas. Analisa o processo de domínio da técnica de Regência pelo estudante à luz da conexão entre o gestual do regente e os significados profundos da obra. Discute o direcionamento de energia no ato da regência como um parâmetro para além da técnica. Em um segundo capítulo trata da postura artística do intérprete frente às ferramentas teóricas, frente à História, a Musicologia e a Análise Musical. O foco recai então sobre a Análise Interpretativa, trazendo para a discussão a questão do Gesto Musical (diferente do Gesto Regencial) e introduz a problemática dos conflitos internos da música, de sua identificação e de como eles geram o conceito de Drama Estrutural da Música que o autor cria, explica e desenvolve. Ao final está incluído um Referencial de Análise que é a reformulação e ampliação de um trabalho do autor de 1989. Todo o trabalho é permeado pela experiência de ensino e de regente do autor, que recorre a depoimentos próprios e de alguns de seus alunos para expor suas idéias sobre o ensino da regência coral.

Teaching Choral Conducting and Performing Analysis through an analyticsynthetic method are the subjects of this Thesis. The first chapter starts with a wide discussion about the concept of “Choral as a School" and its application on community choirs and music students choirs. The author presents the idea that for a deep learning process of Choral Conducting it is necessary to have significant artistic experiences. He analyses the process of conducting technique mastery by the student at the point of view of connection between the conductor’s gesture and the deep meanings of the music. The work discusses energy management at conducting act as a parameter beyond the technique. In the second chapter the author deals with the artistic posture of the performer faced with theoretical tools (History, Musicology and Musical Analysis). It focuses on performing analysis, bringing to discussion the theme of Musical Gesture (that differs from Conducting Gesture) and introduces the issues of internal conflicts of music, its identification and how they generate the concept of Structural Drama of Music, developed and explained by the author. At the end it is included an Analysis Guide Reference that is an enlarged version and new redaction of a 1989’s work. The author’s experience on teaching and conducting go through the whole work. He uses other texts by his own and also by some pupils to explain his ideas about Choral Conducting teaching.
