Abstract in English
In 1942, Mario de Andrade writes Café, hissecond opera libreto, to be set into music by Francisco Mignone. If the formal one, Pedro Malazarte, written in 1928 to receive Camargo Guarnieri´s music was produced rapidly, the long pregnancy of Café fondles with the idea of accomplishing an ambitious Project, uniting the storic dramatic purdin to the musical manifestations of our people. The presence of music, mainly the one of folcloric origine, United to the planing of the choral choreography, draw a text much close to the dramatic dance, so charished by the musicologist than to the conventional opera libretos.
