Nossos resultados mostram na superfície do T. cruzi: 1. diferenças entre clones de formas epimastigotas detectadas pelo anticorpo monoclonal B2/5 e pelas lectinas con A e WGA; 2. epitopos comuns entre as formas epimastigotas e tripomastigotas, detectadas pelos anticorpos monoclonais H366, L5B11 e L1D10; 3. epitopos específicos das formas tripomastigotas detectados pelos anticorpos monoclonais (H1A10, 6A2, 3D11, entre outros); 4. diferenças de reatividade entre a população de formas tripomastigotas de cultura de tecido com o monoclonal H1A10; 5. heterogeneidade no antígeno (Tc-85), detectadas por cromatografia em colunas de afinidade em WGA-Sepharose e em H1A10-Sepharose; 6. diferenças entre os antígenos reconhecidos pelo monoclonal H1A10 nas formas tripomastigotas de cultura de tecido e metacíclicas. As formas tripomastigotas metacíclicas apresentam 3 antígenos de peso molecular menor que a Tc-85 e que não se ligam a colunas de WGA-Sepharose; 7. inibição parcial da invasão in vitro de formas tripomastigotas de cultura de tecido (50 - 70%) e das formas tripomastigotas metacíclicas (90%) devido aos anticorpos monoclonais (H1A10, 6A2 e 3D11).
